Ready to lace up and explore? Your adventure starts here!

A Runner’s (Undiscovered) Paradise

Discover the thrill of trail running in the breathtaking alpine landscapes of Melchsee-Frutt. Nestled in the heart of Switzerland, this destination offers an unparalleled combination of pristine nature, well-maintained trails and awe-inspiring views.

If you are looking for some inspiration, we invite you to check out the Melchsee-Frutt page. They have prepared three different trails that cover three difficulty levels.

However, if you're looking for something truly special, let us introduce our personal favourite—a trail that includes a magical sunset session and ends with a refreshing swim in an alpine lake.

Ultimate Trail Run with Sunset and Lake Plunge Proposal:

The run is approximately 12 km long.

  • The route starts from our hotel in the direction of Balmeregghorn.
  • As you pass Melchsee Lake on your right, the ascent gradually takes you up to 2,255 m to the Balmeregghorn peak.
  • Once you reach the summit, you will find the perfect spot to take a break and admire the second-to-none sunset performance.
  • After the show, continue your descent towards Tannensee Lake.
  • Once down, run along its shoreline with the water on your right.
  • From there, continue the run towards our hotel, but before you reach us—and if the weather allows—make sure to stop by Melchsee Lake for a plunge! Is there anything better than swimming in a crystal-clear alpine lake after a trail run? Exactly!

If the weather isn't ideal for a swim, don’t worry—our two spas offer the perfect alternative. Relax in the sauna, take a dip in the heated pool and soak in the panoramic mountain views—the very peaks you just conquered. We’re already jealous!

After your muscles have had their well-earned rest, it's time to refuel. Will it be a juicy Frutt Mountain Burger at Titschli, a succulent steak at Stübli or a classic Italian pizza at Lago? Whatever you're craving, our restaurants have the perfect dish to satisfy your post-run appetite.
